YEA 2010: Cancelled
Last year in September, we started the preparations for YEA 2010: we made the first announcements, worked out a new program concept and made inquiries about hotels, restaurants and so on.
However, in the last few weeks we had to face the fact that financials are once again a problem. Obviously, the ongoing economic crisis still withholds actuarial companies and insurers to invest in sponsoring activities.
As you probably know, the YEA seminars almost fully depend on sponsorships and advertisements. This is related to our wish to keep the participant’s fee at a low level, to enable actuaries from all over Europe to join our seminars.
All of this brought us to the conclusion that our current budget is insufficient to organise a seminar in the way we planned to. Therefore we want to inform you that YEA 2010, scheduled from 16 to 18 September 2010 in Zürich, Switzerland, will be cancelled.
We are currently deliberating on organising an alternative future event, somewhere in Europe. At this moment we are not able to indicate a date, location or topic. However, we encourage you to follow the latest information on YEA and our activities through this website or our LinkedIn group. We trust to get back to you as soon as possible!
